Operation Sceptre

Alert message sent 20/09/2019 10:13:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

This week is National Operation Sceptre week. As part of the on-going operation weapon sweeps are conducted regularly by Neighbourhood Policing Teams across the force all year round but as a part of this week we are highlighting some of the proactive actions we have taken to prevent knife crime.

The operation runs from Monday 16th September until midnight on Sunday 22nd September and also includes a knife amnesty. There are 25 police stations and partner agency buildings hosting amnesty bins where people can dispose of knives without fear of prosecution.

Sherwood’s NPT have been out this week with the Neighbourhood Development Officers and Local Councillors conducting weapons sweeps with the use of metal detectors in the local area.

If you find any weapons, you can report it on 101 for an officer to come and collect it and dispose of.
