Crime update

Alert message sent 04/10/2019 12:44:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

The crime figures for all crime this year are slightly higher than this time last year so we will focus on getting the crime numbers down further.  Across Dunkirk and Lenton there has been an increase in all crime of 4.8% as of 04/10/2019.

There has been a reduction in Robberies and burglaries across the area, which is excellent news however we still remain proactive in our patrols of hot spot areas.

Theft from motor vehicles has seen an increase however theft of motor vehicles is down which I guess may be because of the reduction in burglaries where car keys are stolen.

Reported ASB incidents are down with 36 less callers than last year however we still continue with the ASB car deployed throughout the week and we now have teams of Police officers and Community protection colleagues assisting in uniformed patrols around the Lenton areas in an attempt to deter and arrest burglars and also deal with ASB.

We are seeing rises in cycle theft so please lock your cycles with a secure D lock around a solid object and in a well-lit area.  May be an idea to site your property near visible CCTV cameras if appropriate.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team are continually working to reduce crime and the fear of crime in the area. We will continue to provide high visibility and plain clothes patrols, conduct operations and seek to problem solve any local issues or trends emerging; thankfully there are none to date.
