Refurbishments, an extension and installation of new equipment all coming to popular play area in Arnold, thanks to external funding.

The Muirfield Road Recreation Ground in Arnold will be improved thanks to £100k funding from FCC Communities Foundation, a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community, conservation and heritage projects from funds donated by waste and resource management company FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund as well as contributions from local residents group, Warren Hill Action Group.

Works on the play park begin on Monday 7 October and are expected to be completed by the end of November. New equipment includes a viper rope swing, 30m Zip Line, Disability Access Roundabout and 5m tall multi climbing unit with slide.

The funding bid was made jointly by Gedling Borough Council and the Warren Action Group, a local residents group. The group have been working to revitalise the playground area and previously received £48,000 from FCC Communities Foundation for a multi-use games area at the park which was opened in 2017.
