Goose Fair Thankyou

Alert message sent 08/10/2019 09:31:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

THANK YOU: Police thank public after another successful Goose Fair.

nottinghamshire Police would like to thank members of the public for their behaviour during Goose Fair.

The historic fun-filled event, which dates back more than 700 years, ran for five days at the Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham, ending Sunday 6th October.

Superintendent Paul Winter said: "The vast majority of people who visited this year's Goose Fair behaved well and enjoyed the event."

"We're still collating our data but very few crimes were reported. We made effective use of direction to leave powers to exlude some people from the Goose Fair which meant they were unable to cause any issues and enabled our officers to carry on with their duties."

"I'm pleased that by working closely with the Goose Fair organisers and our partners including Nottingham City Council and public transport providers the event ran smoothly and people had a good time."
