Vehicle crime in Bingham

Alert message sent 08/10/2019 12:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

We have taken a number of reports from Bingham this morning around commercial vans being broken into overnight /early hours of this morning. These were in the Grizedale Grove, Milburn Grove and Musters Road areas of Bingham

We are aware of a lot comments being posted on various social media outlets about these crimes and currently have officers working on those leads.

The details we are seeing posted on social media are not in many cases being reported directly to us on the 101 system. Looking through social media outlets is time consuming; it would be quicker for us to pursue enquiries if it was passed to us directly. This would also benefit any possible future prosecutions if any information you may have has been rung through on 101.

Please try and park your commercial vehicles up against a wall or another vehicle, without inconveniencing other vehicle owners, to restrict access to the doors if possible. Also look at installing alarm systems in the load area of your vehicle.

Please be vigilant, we will appreciate your call to us on 999 as quickly as possible if you see anything suspicious or if a crime is in process.

If you have any CCTV at your address please ensure that it is working, the lens is clean and the system is recording.
We will have officers patrolling the area over night.
