Knife arch event at Cotgrave oung persons centre

Alert message sent 31/01/2020 20:43:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

Rushcliffe beat team officers visited the Cotgrave Young Peoples centre tonight with a knife arch.

The youth workers set up a nightclub area and the young people passed through the arch to get to that area. David Warren the youth worker had given some of the youngster various metal items that would be picked up by the detector.

Those young people that wanted to engage with the event were then advised about the consequences of carrying knives and offensive weapons in a public place.

Our thanks go to David and his team for making us so welcome and also to the young people who participated in the event and engaged with us in a very positive way.

We did not hold this event due to any concerns we have about knife carrying knives in the area, but purely as an education event.
