ASB in Cotgrave

Alert message sent 13/02/2020 18:30:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

We are working to identify and assess the true extent of the ASB issues in the centre of Cotgrave. Some positive steps have been taken recently around people involved in unacceptable behaviour in the area; we hope there will be some significant improvements as a result of that work.

Nottinghamshire Police continue to request that residents ring the force control room on 101 with any ASB issues they see as soon as possible, rather than at a later date and time, through local Cllrs. or social media sites. Our social media sites are not monitored 24/7 and should not be used for reporting incidents. Your identity will not be disclosed to others if you ring 101.

The reporting of incidents will enable us to build a picture of times and days the issues are taking place.

As the local Police beat team, we work a shift pattern which includes more late shifts than day shifts and are regularly on patrol in Cotgrave, however there are a number of villages we need to cover and also have other demands on our working day, so cannot always be in the centre.

Some questions for parents and carers in http://Cotgrave:-" target="_blank">Cotgrave:-
Are your children out and about in the evening?

Do you know what your children are doing during the evening?

Are they involved in behaviour that is not criminal but may be having an adverse effect on other residents using the hub area?

We are not, under any circumstances, suggesting that young people should not use the hub area, but we do ask that they are considerate towards other residents. Could we ask that parents have a discussion around this situation with their children and encourage respect in the community?

We are also in regular contact with the Cotgrave Town Council, local Councillors, youth worker and Rushcliffe Borough Council staff about the ASB issues and how they can be addressed, this will continue.
